About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and methodical DARS Data Entry Assistant to support the accurate input and management of data in the University’s Development and Alumni Relations System (DARS). This role plays a vital part in ensuring data integrity across key fundraising and alumni engagement activities.

The position is set to commence ASAP and will be part time (10-20 hrs p/w) for an initial duration of 12 weeks with a pay rate of £14.20 per hour + holiday pay

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review documentation and select relevant information for entry into DARS, applying sound judgement and understanding of terminology where required.
  • Accurately and efficiently input data into the database while maintaining strict confidentiality and data protection standards.
  • Perform regular quality and consistency checks on data, identifying and resolving discrepancies, or escalating to managers when necessary.
  • Conduct missing data audits, cross-referencing against documents and query lists, and liaising with relevant teams to obtain accurate updates.
  • Generate progress reports for management and support general data management activities as required.
  • Provide clerical support to the wider team, including photocopying, filing, and organising digital records.

Selection Criteria:

  • Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail, particularly when working with figures and large datasets.
  • Proven ability to work independently on routine tasks and manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Fast and accurate keyboard skills with an aptitude for understanding and interpreting the data being processed.
  • Previous experience with large datasets, including data entry and validation techniques.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, including familiarity with file formats, basic functions, and data organisation tools.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and manage workloads across different projects.
  • Awareness of data protection principles and experience working with confidential information
